IIN is an umbrella organization that unites more than $445 million in nanotechnology research, educational programs, and supporting infrastructure. A primary goal of the Institute is to nucleate new multi- and interdisciplinary research and educational outreach efforts in nanotechnology and provide expertise in the development of competitive grant applications. The Center also provides innovative programs and initiatives to educate the public and train the next generation of scientists and engineers.
