Photos From the Shop
This is an overall view of the CSO (Caltech Submillimeter Observatory) telescope. The SHARP instrument is located below the main dish to the left of the central bearing.
This is a close-up view of the SHARP (Submillimeter High Angular Resolution Polarimeter) instrument on the telescope.
This is another view looking at the instrument from the inside of the enclosure outside. The instrument is located between the Naysmyth focus and the SHARC-II camera.

This is a photo of the WAXS (Wide Angle X-ray Scattering) injection mold and holding fixture used at the APS (Advanced Photon Source) to study the properties of crystalline polymers during the molding process. The tapered rectangular cavities on the outside of the mold and holding fixture allow the x-ray beam to pass through the mold and polymer during injection.
This photo shows the inside detail of the mold.
This photo close detail of the wedge holding fixture for the mold.
