Research Administrator

Alden B. Chang, is a Research Administrator with the Office of Research Development at Northwestern University. He oversees the pre-award process for major and strategic initiatives at Northwestern University; specifically, those programs that anticipate funding in excess of three million dollars in total costs. Alden also manages the University's Limited Submissions process. He has over three years of research administration experience, both at Northwestern University and previously, at the University of Chicago, where he was the Grants and Contracts Administrator for a research center that focused on interdisciplinary research at the interface of health and the social sciences. Prior to arriving in Chicago, he served as an Associate for the Report Review Committee (RRC) of the National Research Council's Executive Office where he coordinated peer review activities for scientific manuscripts and served as the RRC's office manager. Alden received his bachelor of arts degree from the George Washington University in Washington, DC, where he majored in International Relations with a focus on Russia and Central and Eastern Europe.
