About the Office of Research Development

Mission

The Office of Research Development (ORD) amplifies collaborative faculty-led research activities at Northwestern and expands Northwestern's capacity to pursue major multi- and interdisciplinary research initiatives that garner national and international recognition.

Objectives

• Provide timely notification of strategic funding opportunities;
• Coordinate large and complex grant and contract proposal efforts;
• Connect Northwestern investigators intellectually and develop strategic alliances, build effective teams and access to collective research resources;
• Guide the pursuit of new strategic research activities in response to the funding opportunity landscape and new research directions;
• Promote Northwestern's research capabilities and accomplishments;
• Seek access to the formative stages of new research funding program development;
