Offer guidance for building connections and teams
Coordinate special catalytic research events, e.g. topic-driven mini-symposia that encourage new research initiatives
Share information about federal policy that impacts research funding and the research enterprise broadly
Track faculty participation on agency advisory bodies to capture knowledge about forthcoming research opportunities and strategies to pursue them
Provide guidance regarding the development and implementation of new research institutes and centers
Assist with writing MOUs for new joint initiatives
Facilitate and coordinate preliminary meetings to discuss new research initiatives or opportunities
Assess project fit with opportunity and project readiness and competitiveness vis-à-vis funding agency guidelines and mission
