The Office for Research Information Systems (ORIS) provides leadership and strategic direction in the design, creation and deployment of technical solutions to address cross-functional business issues for the University's research enterprise. We specialize in the identification and implementation of technical solutions to streamline business processes, improve efficiency and simplify the administrative process for faculty and staff users. We champion the application of IS solutions and technologies to the Northwestern research enterprise. ORIS provides two different services that can be separated; network and workstation technical support (including help desk functions), and application and systems implementation which includes make/buy scenarios.

The goal of ORIS is to provide the infrastructure, including organizational structure, personnel, budget, software development tools, hardware, documentation, policies, and training opportunities that enables ORIS to fulfill its responsibilities to the Office for Research and its constituents.
