Northwestern University Shared and Core Facilities

The Office for Research provides funding for the support of core facilities throughout the University, utilizing a semiannual call for proposals. A faculty committee reviews and prioritizes requests that will improve the operation and breadth of current facilities and/or for improvements and modifications that will increase the probability of securing additional external funding.

Cores may request funds for equipment, instrumentation, and/or operating costs. Core facilities are developed and maintained to meet the needs of faculty and researchers. Cores are organized within a department, center or school, or by the Office for Research. Visit each site for services provided and contact information.
