The Biological Safety Professional:

Assists with formulating policies and procedures and with developing, coordinating, and executing safety and compliance programs for faculty, staff and students using biological materials. The BSP is responsible for managing for the day to day activities of the following programs:

Shipping and transporting biohazardous materials
Bloodborne pathogens
Recombinant DNA
Biological safety cabinets
Select agents and toxins
