The HSS provides services to laboratories and other administrative units in the areas of biohazardous waste disposal, recombinant DNA registrations, preparation and maintenance of exposure control plans, audits of select agents and issues related to laboratory animals and biocontainment facilities on both the Chicago and Evanston Campuses.

Please contact the HSS with any of these questions:

  • How do I submit a recombinant DNA registration?
  • What are the biosafety criteria for the organism I am working with?
  • How do I clean up a biological spill?
  • How do I dispose of my biological waste?
