The HWT is responsible for picking up and managing chemical and radioactive waste, delivering radioactive materials, and other duties in the radiation safety and general laboratory safety programs.

The HWT can answer questions such as:

  • How do I arrange for waste pickup?
  • I'm opening a new laboratory; what kind of waste containers does ORS provide?
  • What radionuclides are permitted in a single container?
  • What kinds of labels are required on waste containers?
  • Can I dispose of radioactive material down the sink?
