When you call or stop by ORS in Chicago, the secretary will probably be the first person you contact. The secretary can answer general questions about the ORS or direct you to the staff member who can answer your questions. The secretary will be happy to assist you in any way possible, such as arranging for your radioactive waste to be picked up, scheduling your laboratory survey with our Laboratory Safety Specialist, or supplying you with containers for your chemical waste.

Registration materials for new radiation workers, applications for possession and use of radioactive material for investigators, and Five-Year Review Forms can be provided by the secretary, who also coordinates the paperwork for the Radiation Safety Committee. Billing for dosimeters and for X-ray machine registration and inspection is coordinated by the secretary.
