The department assistant manages office activities, executes department orders and monitors accounts payable, incoming shipments, and budget statements.

As editor of publications, Deanna designs and edits publications produced by ORS including the award-winning newsletter, Research Safety News, and the Employee Safety Handbook, which is distributed to all Northwestern employees. Deanna also revises, edits and designs graphics for core departmental documents, designs specialty signs and labels, creates, revises and edit forms for office transactions, and helps staff members with PowerPoint presentations.
