This document contains the Exposure Control Plan for University employees who may have an occupational exposure to human blood, blood products, and other potentially infectious materials. Occupational exposure means reasonably anticipated skin, eye, mucous membrane, or parenteral (piercing mucous membrane or skin barrier) contact with blood or other potentially infectious materials that may result from the performance of an employee's duties. This document serves as a general guide. Principal investigators and supervisors should obtain and consult the original text of the standard and its preamble (available from the Office for Research Safety, ORS) for compliance details that may not be covered by this guide. |
