Congratulations to the winners of the Summer Quarter Golden Awards! This quarter, ORS recognizes Joseph Takahashi, Neurobiology and Physiology, for his well-prepared Safety Plan. Helping to maintain the plan and safety in the laboratory is Safety Designate Eun Joo Song.

Richard Silverman, Chemistry, receives an award for his radiation safety program. Thanks to the efforts of Safety Designate Deanna "Safety Czar" Mitchell, the Silverman group has significantly reduced the radioactive contamination in their lab, cleaned the radiation hood, implemented random wipe tests to monitor for radioactive contamination, called Facilities Management to schedule a test for the safety shower, and improved housekeeping in the lab.
