Number 41 June, 2001 Proper Shipping Address on Orders is CrucialThe University's license requires that couriers deliver radioactive material packages directly to the Office for Research Safety. Using the proper shipping address on orders is important because it prevents couriers from delivering these materials to your laboratory. Couriers may not be aware of the requirement and they will deliver the package to whomever it is addressed. Use the following addresses on your blankets and single orders:
Chicago Campus
Evanston Campus The name of the authorized investigator is required -- not the name of a department assistant or a student or a lab tech. If the name of the authorized investigator is not on the shipping paper, delivery of the package to your laboratory may be delayed. If department assistants place such orders, please give them these instructions. Package delivered directly to your lab anyway? Follow these instructions.

Use this NUtrino as a training tool. Circulate it among the radiation workers in your group and have them sign and date the training form on the back. File it with your authorization and other radiation safety documents for review during regulatory inspections. Discuss it during laboratory meetings. We have back issues, or you can print them off the Web. |
