Description:

The Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) requires training for users of high-powered lasers.  This course covers the hazards associated with lasers and the methods for minimizing hazards.

Illinois Admistrative Code Title 32, 315.100

Target:

Anyone at the University operating a class 3B or 4 laser must be trained before operation.

Duration:

Self-paced (online), about an hour.

ONLINE TRAINING:

• E-mail your name, NetID, and Employee/Student ID number (on your Wildcard) to laser-safety@northwestern.edu to register for the course. 
• ORS will send you a confirmation e-mail once you are registered.
• Go to the University Blackboard site and login with your netid and password.
• After completing the test, mail or deliver the completed Laser Operator Registration Form to:
