Research Appointments at Northwestern

Research Staff and Visitor Appointment

Research staff appointments are approved by the Office for Research. Appointments are for a fixed term up to three years, contingent on the availability of funds and satisfactory performance.

NOTE: As of January 1, 2007, Postdoctoral Fellows, Visiting Postdoctoral Fellows and NRSA Postdoctoral Fellows are handled by the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs in The Graduate School. See: Postdoctoral Fellow Appointments

Faculty-Level Research Appointment

Faculty-level research appointments are approved by the Vice President for Research. Appointments are for a fixed term, typically from one to three years, contingent on the availability of funds and satisfactory performance.
