The Granite Project
The Comparative Medicine facility management and protocol submission and review system will serve the research community by expediting the creation and review of studies while better utilizing infrastructure and controlling costs. The .net web, wireless and Oracle architecture will allow research protocols to be created and reviewed anywhere while increasing the quality of Comparative Medicine by accurately capturing all facets of the study.

The eIRB Project
eIRB is Northwestern University's Web-based System for submitting and Tracking IRB Submissions. It allows for electronic submissions and related documents and accessed anywhere at anytime, and tracks submissions through the IRB approval process. eIRB has been launched in Evanston. It will replace the current IRB system NUIRBS and improve process ease and efficiency. Currently, Brenda Bryant from ORIS are providing IT support on the system.

The ISIS Project
The Office for Research Safety and Office for Research Information Systems are developing a Web-based system for tracking research safety at Northwestern University. The new system will replace the paper-based "Safety Plan" for all researchers. It will replace the numerous forms that researchers formerly filled out by hand. The University will then be able to more accurately track potential hazards in the labs.

Web Design Project: OR Unit Redesign
In order to best promote, facilitate and enhance research at Northwestern University as well as to present a united Office for Research identity, the web sites for all OR units will be redesigned. Implementing the redesign of all the OR Unit websites aims to create a unified and standard look and feel of the OR website throughout the all units, improve on the interface of website, and improve its effectiveness. The unit sites are: ORD, ORI, OSR, OPRS (IRB and ACUC), CCM, ORPFC, ORS and ORAVP. For more detail see strategic plan document Web Design Project Committees - Phase 2 OR Units.
