Stimulus Report Review Process for Northwestern Researchers

  1. Distribution of Stimulus Report Review spreadsheet for review. Quarterly spreadsheets and due dates posted at http://www.northwestern.edu/asrsp/arra.html
  2. PI (or designate) locates individual project data on
    prepopulated spreadsheet
  3. Confirm data or provide specific feedback AND provide quarterly scientific/programmatic activity report via Stimulus Report Review
  4. Stimulus Report Review release dates and Response due dates are posted at http://ww.northwestern.edu/asrsp/arra.html
  5. If no response, pre-populated data will be reported

Reporting Timeline – Quarterly

  1. Days 1-10 – NU uploads data to FederalReporting.gov
  2. Days 11-21 – data is public, NU data validation and corrections begin, Federal agency “view-only” period
  3. Days 22-29 – Federal agency review of submitted data and comment period
  4. Day 30 – NU report published on www.Recovery.gov

*NOTE: If an award is missing from initial report, penalties include risk of award being suspended

Reporting Jobs Created/Retained

  1. For faculty members, the number of jobs created or retained is calculated based on the paid effort charged to the ARRA projects divided by the total salary (including all paid appointments) on a quarterly basis. Cost shared effort is not included.
  2. For non-exempt employees (e.g. biweekly regular or biweekly temporaries), one full-time equivalent (FTE) is based on 489 hours per quarter. For further detail, link to ARRA Quarterly Jobs Created or Retained Procedures and Example
