Urgent Need for Hospital Supplies

March 22, 2020
Updated March 30, 2020

Dear Northwestern Researchers:

Northwestern Memorial Hospital urgently needs N95 masks, face shields, gloves, and sterile non-cotton swabs made of rayon, nylon, or polyester, with non-wooden shafts, as our healthcare workers respond to the COVID-19 outbreak. If you can donate supplies that are packaged and in good order, please label them with your name and University affiliation and bring them to Research Safety.

  • Evanston campus: leave items in the hallway outside of Tech NG-71 during normal business hours
  • Chicago campus: leave items at the security desk inside 345 E. Superior St.

Note: Laboratories should retain those items required in any “essential” research, as defined by our March 19 communication.

Questions? Please email:

We know that many of you have stepped forward seeking to help during this unprecedented challenge. One of the best ways to make an immediate impact in the fight against COVID-19 is by supporting our frontline hospital colleagues with the aforementioned supplies.

Thank you for your consideration.
